Healthcare access
Medellín has a large healthcare sector and an established international-patient market. Local government reported 23,323 international patients in 2024. That ecosystem can be valuable for diagnostics, specialty referrals and medical partnerships.
Connectivity
José María Córdova International Airport provides access to the region for patients traveling from abroad. The final facility should still be selected with transfer time, emergency medical access and family logistics in mind.
Environment
The surrounding highlands can provide a quieter setting while remaining close to a major city — which is where our first facility is planned. For residential behavioral healthcare, privacy, safety and appropriate zoning are more important than a photogenic view.
The limitation of medical tourism as a concept
Addiction treatment is not a vacation product. Marketing should not trivialize severity or encourage patients to choose a center based primarily on destination appeal. The location is only valuable if the clinical system is sound.
